What's my story?

I'm a human and husband first. I love people and feel like a kid again any time I am playing sports. I was voted as a captain or played a leadership role for almost every team I have been on, which set the foundation for my professional life. Click here to get more in-depth about my journey.

Why do companies work with me?

Every company I've worked with has had smarter and more talented teammates than me. For me to keep up, I to learn to ask the dumb questions that might seem obvious or the scary question we might not want to hear the answer to. It's amazing what gets uncovered when everyone has an assumption. 

What are my biggest weaknesses?

I can be a people pleaser to a fault. This can come up when holding people accountable, remembering my value in negotiations, and dealing with angry or dominant personalities.   Click here to read more about my weaknesses and how I am learning to address them.

How is conflict dealt with?

  1. Separate fact from judgment. A client might tell me their opinion of what's wrong, but we need raw data of what they are experiencing that led them to this belief.
     

  2. Know why it matters. Is there external pressure? From who? This is where compassion and empathy come in. This is where they feel heard. 
     

  3. Set commitments of who will do what by when and how they will know.
     

  4.  Confirm Resolution: Make sure I tested and verified the resolutions and then make sure the reporter of the issue also confirmed the issue they reported was resolved.

What do you like to do outside of work?

  • I love arts that require your full body and full mind to learn. Some things I practice or previously practiced are wrestling, boxing, Muay Thai, bachata dancing, salsa dancing, and improv comedy.

  • Taking a day hike

  • I'm a fight fan, so if a TV is on with boxing or MMA I am likely drifting towards that.

  • Eating Trader Joes, Chipotle or somewhere with my wife and friends 

  • When I am in Latin America, convincing my wife to try street vendor food with me (it's the best food).

  • Planning my next trip or adventure
